I would like to first off thank Pat, Toni, Sarah and Heather Yosick for sponsoring the race on June 19th, thank you! The race was GREAT, we had a ton of people come out and ride time onlys and support our club, so thank you. We missed a few standard faces, Liz, but we enjoyed meeting the new people and hope that you had a great time. I would like to thank Dianna Merrick and Bob Malley for working and watering the ground all day, thank you! Thanks to Anna Hernandez, Julliet Primeau and Bev Hampton.... none of these ladies even brought a horse to ride, but they were out in the arena helping measure and set the course, thank you! In the announcers booth were more riders who didn't ride, they chose to work, Dave Coffee, Nancy Davis and Barb Stocking, thank you all for announcing and writing times we all do appreciate it, but next time BRING your HORSES! Robert Rosenberger worked the gate all night long, thank you. In the snack bar was Bev Hampton and Aaron Hampton, thank you! Crystal Smyth brought her lovely handbags, jewelry and sunglasses to sell, so that made the barrel race even more fun, shopping and horses.... what more could be better? Thanks Crystal for coming and setting up! Our course last night was a bit smaller than usual due to a wet spot in the arena, safety is always our main concern. Ideally we like to run a standard pattern, however we made adjustments to the course due to safety, next time (July 3rd) we will be back to normal. :-) Congratulations to Sabrina Martin, who won the 1D on her nice mare Speedy with a 16.549 and right behind her was Dora Denning with a 16.584. The 2D was won by Julie Bologna on her nice palomino gelding Cap. Dianna Williamson rode her horse Whiskey to a first place in the 3D. Janette Sundstedt rode her nice mare Dacquiri and won the 4D. The 5D was won by Roquel Merrick who was riding Blue Duck, who is Ollie Simpson's rope horse, it just goes to show you that some of the best rope horses make even better barrel horses! :-) Our next race is Tuesday, July 3rd and it is sponsored by Pat and Nancy Davis, thanks!
